“Estonia’s education system is at the top of the world thanks to the fact that there is an equal access to education and we are able to smartly use technological solutions for enhanced learning and teaching,” said Minister of Education and Research Mailis Reps yesterday at the G7 Education Ministers Meeting in Paris.

 

„Eesti haridussüsteem on maailma tipus tänu sellele, et meil on kõigil võrdne ligipääs haridusele ning teisalt suudame koolides oskuslikult tehnoloogilisi lahendusi õppimises ja õpetamises kasutada,“ ütles haridus- ja teadusminister Mailis Reps eile Pariisis toimunud G7 haridusministrite tippkohtumisel.

 

Today, Mailis Reps, the Minister of Education and Research of Estonia participates in the Education Ministers Meeting of G7. The meeting focuses on the issues of equity in education, fight against bullying in school and the challenges in early childhood education and teaching profession.

 

Täna osaleb minister Mailis Reps esmakordselt G7 haridusministrite tippkohtumisel, mille peamised teemad on võrdne ligipääs haridusele, võitlus koolikiusamisega ning alushariduse ja õpetajaametiga seonduvad väljakutsed.

 

Mailis Reps, the Minister of Education and Research of Estonia and Edith Heard, the Director General of the European Molecular Biology Laboratory signed agreement that Estonia became a prospect member state starting from June 2019. This is the first step towards becoming full member of the organization.

 

Estonia was invited to innovate European and Asian education together with United Kingdom and Japan at the Asia-Europe Foundation (ASEF) meeting in Singapore. The joint initiative focuses on IT, including artificial intelligence.

 

Eile Singapuris lõppenud Aasia-Euroopa koostööfoorumil (ASEF) tehti Eestile ettepanek osaleda koos Suurbritannia ja Jaapaniga kokku ühises hariduse infotehnoloogiliste, sealhulgas tehisintellekti arendamist puudutavas ühisettevõtmises.

 

The Secretary General Mart Laidmets participates in the 40th Asia-Europe Foundation meeting in Singapore on 13. - 14. June. The meeting will focus on education, culture, governance, economy and sustaniability issues.

 

Kantsler Mart Laidmets osaleb täna ja homme Singapuris toimuval 40. Aasia-Euroopa koostööfoorumil (ASEF). Kohtumisel arutatakse haridusteemade kõrval ka kultuuri, avatud valitsemise, majanduse ja jätkusuutlikkusega seonduvaid küsimusi.

 

This week, the Secretary General Mart Laidmets introduced Estonia’s practices and experiences in digital transformation of education to the management and officials of the Singaporean Ministry of Education and Singapore’s school leaders.
