Ferre Windey is a 21-year-old school student activist. He is currently a board member of the Organising Bureau of European School Student Unions (OBESSU), which represents 31 national school student unions in 24 European countries. OBESSU gives a platform for the concerns and ideas of school students on a European level, as well as supporting its members on developing stronger unions within their own national contexts. Windey started as a grassroots activist in his high school student council in Ghent, Belgium, and he is currently studying History at university in Ghent. When he became an international officer and board member of the Flemish Students Union (VSK), he found his way in school student activism, linking European educational policy back to Flemish school students and the other way around. His areas of interest include the digitalisation of education and pedagogical innovation.
