  1. BulletHobby education and hobby activities – according to the Estonian Education Information System, 313 hobby schools with approximately 47,000 students were operating in Estonia during the 2008/2009 academic year. In addition to hobby schools, hobby activities also take place in schools, open youth centres, hobby centres, youth associations, etc.

  2. BulletYouth information – young people receive information and advice from county and local information and counselling centres. The biggest annual event related to providing youth with information on study and leisure opportunities is the annual Teeviit (Road Sign) information fair. Information needed by young people is available at the NIP web portal (www.nip.ee). The youth work newsletter Aken (Window) is also published on a regular basis.

  3. BulletYouth counselling – the providers of counselling services who work at information centres, schools, employment agencies, etc., form a network of counsellors. National programmes have been initiated in order to develop the services, including career services and study counselling.

Figure 2 shows the extent to which different youth work structures are represented at the local government level as well as the planned increase of youth work organizations.
